Who, me?
Hi, Iβm Janisha, founder and resident wordsmith of Good Hearted Studio. Iβm the twenty-something, one-woman-show behind the keyboard, writing dare-to-be-different copy for the coolest conscious brands with serious heart.
I pinch myself that this is my real-life adult job. [Ow.]
Likes:
Pretending Iβm a dating advice columnist in an early 2000s movie, chronicling my hopelessly tragic dating antics [read: cautionary tales]. Sheβs got a dream to make the world a better place, of course. Thatβs always the trope.
Dislikes:
Hustle culture. Shoes that arenβt platform. Polyester. Fast-fashion. Close-minded people.
Go-to cafΓ© order:
Iβm easily won over with an iced matcha latte on coconut milk [so yummy!] Bonus points for an assorted vegan baked good too. [Hint, hint.]
If I pick the movie, weβre watching:
Confessions of a Shopaholic. How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. 13 Going on 30. Sex and The City. Clueless. [Are we sensing a pattern yet?]
Written in the stars:
Taurus sun, Aries moon, Cancer rising.
Weβre a match made in heaven if...
...You believe in progress over perfection. Maybe you hate paper straws but have a home composter. Every action, no matter how big or small, counts. Personally, Iβm vegan [which is a win for the planet and animals] but Iβm still confused on the basics of what rubbish goes in which bin [err, can you recycle oily pizza boxes?]
When Iβm not tappinβ away on my keyboard, you can find me...
...Soaking up some sunshine and salt water at the beach, scouring the racks of an op-shop for a cute new [old] find, spending time with my favourite people, or cozying up with a spicy romance book. Hehe.
Passion + Purpose
Letβs rewind the clock a decade to 2014. The moment little 15 year old Janisha [founder and resident wordsmith here] made an overnight decision to shift my eating and lifestyle habits to go vegan, after watching one documentary on animal agriculture.
This is the moment I began to learn better, know better and do better in everything I do.
This is the moment I realised the weight of our individual actions and that every choice we make, can either contribute to positive change or continue to serve a larger issue.
As I grew up and entered the world of marketing, I was confronted with the harsh realities of consumer marketing. Not a vibe. I found myself often contemplating whose voices I was supporting and how I could make a more positive impact.
I was always told I had a knack for βjust gettingβ what my clientβs wanted to say. I dreamt about using my powers for good, and just like that, Good Hearted Studio was born. We know we like to poke fun and be cheekyβthis is trueβ but our driver is to support the voices of values-aligned brands fighting the good fight.
All roads lead to Good Hearted Studio.
I have always loved creating content for brands and helping changemakers bring their big dreams to life.
I realised unlike in someone elseβs agency, in my own business I could play by my own rules. If I only wanted to help raise the voices of good humans who shared the same values as me to make the world a better place, so be it.
Since officially starting in 2022, Iβve spent 2 years finding my footing with where I want Good Hearted to go. Iβve worked with some really amazing social purpose-led start-ups on all areas of their digital marketing needs but Iβve realised my superpower [and what I enjoy most!] is writing copy and helping go-getter brands find their voice.
Years of feedback on how well I can easily slip into a clientβs shoes to create their brand voice like a chameleon and I have finally opened my ears that Good Hearted Studio was in-fact destined to be a copywriting studio for good-hearted brands. Destiny is cute like that, right?
A trip down memory lane.
Before there was Good Hearted Studio, I found my footing in content marketing in a few odd places. Did I ever tell you about the time I started a successful waffle business?
